I think it is a personal preference, plus being compatible with each other. Eating is an important part of people life, even if you consider that a nourishment. At my age, I could not imagine living with someone who has a very different eating habits, unhealthy eating habits, all the junk foods...etc.

I dated someone SMO after I had RNY and I was at goal for a couple of years. The SMO guy and I, we were not compatible in so many areas that it could never turn into anything serious. Eating was one of them.

He loved to eat and drink.. his idea for a great date was going for dinner and eating and drinking. Going for a walk was not an option. Long distance traveling and sightseeing was not an option. He wasn't fit enough to travel and walk.

BTW: I would not date a smoker, or alcoholic, or a drug user.
