My experience was pretty good. I got ample pain medication, which I was worried about. My first nurse, Christian, was an angel. I love him. I want to send him a little gift of appreciation. He was so good to me my first night. My other nurses were good but none as good as Christian. One of my nurses was a little weird--she seemed to think I was on too many medications (that I'm on for an autoimmune disease). There was an incident in the beginning where they weren't giving me my meds (most likely because this lady thought I didn't need them). Then I started getting sick. Guess what? I really needed them. So, after we got that straightened out, things were OK.

I was lucky enough to get a private room. So, I have no horrible roommate stories. I was the last surgery of the day and got to my room around 6pm. But, I was up and walking that night. I didn't think I would be... but I did! My legs felt a little weak, but probably just from lying down for so long.

They do strap you on to the surgical table. I hadn't expected that. Just so you know to expect it. It wasn't weird. I was actually happy I wouldn't be falling off. :)

So glad that you are home and improving.  Try to get in as much fluid as you can, it will help with the exhaustion.  Welcome to the loser's bench.  You've got this. CC
