What do you credit for "long term success"?
I have been here since 2004 and I never want to forget where I started and why I started and become that person I was before. Being here keeps me grounded. Someone said yesterday having wls will eventually become as meaningless as having ones tonsils removed, and for me this is completely untrue, it is the single most important thing I have ever done for my life and for my health. It means everything to me to have a second chance, and to share it with people and to offer hope that there is a road back. Yes I might obsess about it but it is a huge part of who I am. No regain ever. Period. Nor will there ever be, until I am old and stop caring.
I sure hope that I never get old enough to not care!! I can't imagine that having RNY could become meaningless to me. It doesn't define me, but it is part of who I am and always will be there in the choices of what and how I eat.
