I'm home! Surviving and sore. Trying to sip sip sip throughout the day. Not hungry in the least (the 2 week liquid diet before was great prep. Finding a way to sit or lay is difficult because of sore spots.

Water is the worst but I'm just pushing through to get as much in as possible. Thanks for checking in. Will be on a bit more once in feeling better.

How are you doing?  Are you home from your surgery?

Totally normal.  I literally cried myself to sleep for a week before surgery.  You should journal a list of all the reasons you sought WLS, why you chose your surgeon and all the steps you have taken to get your surgery date.  Then list what you are scared of on another page.  Address your concerns with your surgeon- I called mine.  When I checked into the hospital the nurse checking me in saw me cry again-  I wasn't scared of the surgery itself- I was more scared of throwing up afterwards.  The nurses assured me it was there number one concern that I not throw up in recovery.  They took total care of me.  I'm 5 1/2 weeks out and knocking on wood haven't gotten sick yet.  I don't regret my surgery for one moment- best thing I have EVER done for myself.  Good luck to you and whatever you decide.

no regrets and its been over 5 years.  normal to be worried about surgery but just think how good it will feel to be rid of 100 lbs or whatever you want to lose.  i love this every day.   diane

I was a total basket case pre op. Honestly I kept backing out in my head right up to being put out on the operating table. So glad I didn't!!!! This is by far the best thing I ever did for myself. I am not comparing it to family or my career or any other such thing but all those other life's gifts have been made so much better because I am healthier and feel so much better. In the four years I have been here I have seen maybe a handful of folks truly regret having had surgery and even those probably just had initial buyer's remorse. Everyone who works this wonderful tool to its full potential has come out on the other side with flying colours.

Any surgery is scary. I had to have 3 C-sections and I could not second guess those surgeries...had to have them for healthy babies. Same with my VSG. Needed it to be healthy. I'm two years out and have no regrets.

Thank you everybody, I think it is just nerves, keep thinking what if I cant do it? I so want this weight to be gone, I have tried so many weight loss attempts only to lose 50 or 60 pounds and then gain that plus some back.  I have been on a rollercoaster for the last 20 years! I look so forward to this and then just get scared to death.
