Congrats on getting your date.

I was told NO liquid pre-op diet because I was sooooo close to the edge. The only fasting I did was the hours before surgery. But then my BMI signing into the surgeon's was 35.2 and they wanted me to stay above 35 at all possible. I STILL went into surgery below 35, I was 34.9.

 Thanks Liz.

That's crazy about your BMI.  You truly were a light weight!

I've had people telling me left and right that I don't need this surgery.  But I take it as a compliment.  It's so interesting to see all the different reactions.  But so far nothing I can't handle!

Glad you got your date Carrie.  Our program does seem to have a much lengthier pre-op process than others do.  I think this is good in some ways but can make getting the date even more special.   The first day of liquids was my hardest so just take it day by day.

The nectar is syntrax nectar....if you google them they offer a sample pack at a pretty great price.  I do not like them as much as everyone else does but need to try them again as it was early out the last time I tasted some.  You can mix some in water which is nice.

Good luck........also ready to drink shakes have really come in handy......protein shakes tasted great pre surgery for me but now I struggle with home made ones.  I love protein in my coffee though....that has been a lifesaver!!

Cheers!

Do I buy unflavored protein powder at GNC?  Seems like I heard that somewhere....

I do think the lengthy process is good in a lot of ways.  Give you a lot of time to consider exactly what you're doing.  Over a year later----surgery date!!  I feel like having a party.   I actually considered ordering a cake!   I've gotta get over that mentality.  But man I love cake.  LOL
