Hi Pat, I just wanted to say that I read your journal and really find your journey very inspiring. I had surgery 3/3/2004 and am at that point where I am struggling with food. I started at 334 and am stuck right now at 231. I go up and down a few pounds. My weight loss is just like yours... I dont loose any for a couple of weeks then the weight suddenly will come off. Not alot just a bit. Just reading your post gave me strength to get myself together and stick to it. I am going to try that stillman diet I have been hearing so much about (I think from the same source!:) You hang in there you are doing fabulous and God Bless you, your mother and your family :) (((hugs)))!

When feeling blue about your “slow” weight loss or a plateau, remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 84 pounds!!! Good luck!

Best wishes for a smooth, complication-free surgery and recovery. May you reach your goal with lightening speed and be able to do all the things you have dreamed of doing once again. My surgery is also 1/20/04 so we can compare notes after surgery. Jo K (Illinois)

Hi Pat, I'd say don't be nervous but what's the point? I was nervous too! I always say the week before surgery was worse than the week after (for me anyway). Stay positive and keep ONLY positive people around you. Truly. I'm down 100 lbs after 7 months; it's was a great decision for me and I'm sure it will be great for you too. The results of this surgery are nothing short of amazing (I'm still in shock). I hope all your weight-loss and good health dreams come true..... Best Wishes,
