I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. (unknown author)FROM MY HEART TO YOU ~*~Hugs~*~

Hi Karen, I too am suffering with the remnants of a summer viral infection, hubby gave it to me!! Thanks honey! He went to the Dr. and they gave him antibiotics and a good cough medicine, that I can't take, codeine allergy, so I've been muddling through with just the Tylenol for the airheaded feeling. I feel OK for a while after taking that, I know it's not doing anything for the cold, I've just decided to "ride it out"! Happy sneezing to you!! BIGGHUGGZZZZ

Karen I really know how you feel. I am 28 days post op. I had my surgery on July 3rd and I am here to tell you I was wishing that there was a way that I could reverse the surgery. I thought that it was the biggest mistake of my life. I was nauseous all the time, all of my food tasted like stomach acid and just the thought of food made me gag. I called the surgeon he gave me a prescription for pepcid for the acid and it really worked, but all of a sudden I woke up one day and I was fine!! It does go away. I think it has something to do with your pouch healing completely. I still have trouble with some foods but when I do eat now I actually enjoy the food.

Karen, You poor thing! I remember those early days well, and trust me, it will get better. It's very common to have some degree of depression after major surgery, and with a 12 inch incision, I'd say your surgery was major! Try to keep your thoughts positive, and try very hard to keep moving, small walks a few times a day do wonders for your mental health, as well as helping healing. Just try to be sipping water or Crystal Light all the time, to keep from getting dehydrated. You should really try to get in at least 50 grams of protein a day too. Soon this will all seem like a world away, believe it or not. You will have more energy and feel so much better, just hang in there. {{{HUGS}}}}

Hi Karen, This stage of your wls recovery will be the hardest and depressing of all. Most of us go through this same thing, Make sure you get your proteins in cause this is what help you heal and stay from getting so weak. It may not seem like you will get better but you will. each day that passes is good for healing. Try to stay focused and POSITIVE **Hugs**

Karen, I completely understand. Today is my 3 month anniversary and at your stage I thought I made the biggest mistake of my entire life. But even though I didn't think it possible - it really does get better. You are thirsty because you can only take small sips at a time. Have you tried crystal light iced tea (my favorite is peach) or sugar free fudgiscles? Energy seemed to take forever to come back. But I returned to work at 4 weeks out and did very well. Around 6 I started feeling pretty normal. Wish you the very best, keep your chin up.
