Hey Girl! Thanks for posting a comment for me! You have been my inspiration with this whole decision making process! We have been best friends for a long time and I would NEVER take back one second of it! You are more like my sister! I am praying for you to find peace because I know how scared you are about surgery!! I am excited to be (possibly) doing this together. You are such a wonderful friend!! Hi Amber, Dr. Phil is ok on some issues, and I'm glad he is at least talking about it, as many others haven't. I will tell you that I'm one year out, and it is not all consuming, as I can eat whatever I want except sugars and fats. It's just harder now to say No to the carbs, as I'm a carb addict. You do thing constantly about eating right, and trying to make good choices for you new little tummy; but that is what is supposed to happen "mindful eating". Anyway, you wouldn't be normal if you weren't fearful. It is a major surgery, and should be weighed out carefully. Maybe this will help, As you take your journey to the inner, and thinner you, remember: The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 For I am the LORD, you God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13 Don't tell GOD how big your storm is. Tell the storm how big your GOD is! Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. Hi there, I read your post. I think everyone has that scared feeling, but it shouldn't stop a person from getting it. A girl in my small town died. it was the buzz for a whole 2 months. but it didn't stop me. I believe you shouldn't go by others stories. everyone has their own. Think positive. I felt I was slowly dying my wt was killing me. anyhow and am darn glad I had wls. Im not sickly, and have had no complications or problems. I am very happy, my wls was 12/6/02 so far wt loss is 86 lbs It may be more by now, haven't weighed in 13 days. anyhow. I have alot of faith that comforts and guilds me. Hang in there and stay focused. Hugs

Hi Amber: Welcome. I'm kinda new around here too. I'm also addicted to this site. Things are really slow at work right now and I can't keep away from the message board. My company has a firewall - so I can't get into the chat room from here or I'd really be in trouble. I'm 51 days pre-op (6/23) and time seems to be standing still. I've heard of that doc from Pittsburgh, but don't really know anything about him. I'm going through Dr. Woodruff at the Comprehensive Ctr for Weight Loss at St. Elizabeth's in Youngstown, Ohio.
