Welcome home, Dionna! You must be doing well; the hosp. released you yesterday. Sorry you're sore though. Try to scoot on your side to the edge of the bed, then swing your legs down and at the same time push your upper body up using your arm. Your legs going down should provide some momentum to get your upper half up - without using your abs. Laying down works the same way - in reverse. Takes practice - and now you're post-op you'll get some practice! Things get better. In a couple weeks you'll be able to sleep in most positions and rise much more comfortably. Rest well, walk often, and stay as hydrated as allowed. Remember the next several weeks are only that - several weeks out of the rest of your whole life. It's worth it. Take care, God Bless, and Heal Well. Stay in touch and let me know how you're coming along... Hugs : )

Hello - Angel Update here: I spoke earlier this afternoon with (must have been) daughter Chelsea at the hospital with Dionna. She said Mom had been out of recovery since 10 or 11am and was doing fine and in her own room. So far everything has gone very well. YAY! What an answer to prayer! Dionna, you're on this side now! Praying for the Lord's comfort, support, and help as you recouperate. Hoping sleep, walking, coughing, and deep breathing exercises all come fairly easily for you and that your pain is kept to a livable level. Amen... and Congratulations! Hugs -
