Michelle, call your surgeon ASAP. I just went through the same thing and it turned out I had an infection. I wore my binder because the pressure helped the pain disolve.

Dear Michelle, I am 15 months out and still cannot do chicken. There is just something about it that does the same thing to me. Oh well I can live without it. I also cannot do bread and can do very little pasta or rice. Blessings to you. Janice 353/154

Michelle - I don't have the foamy stuff but I can't do chicken. I dump every time. It was a staple in my diet and now it's gone (at least for a while). Broccoli does me in too. Wendy (28 days post-op and feeling good)

Michelle, I know of two Gastric Bypass patients that couldn't eat chicken for 9-12 months after surgery. What you're describing sounds like chicken doesn't agree with you. Give it some time and try again later. God bless!

CONGRADULATIONS, MICHELLE!! *great big hugs* I'm so proud of you. I came home from the hospital, was weighed 9 days later and had lost 11 lbs. I was DEVASTATED!! But suddenly, two months later, WHOOSH! SOOOoooo much disappeared. So keep looking ahead cuz it gets BETTER!! As for the Chicken issue... I have a hard time eating ANY meats, but find that meat with some sauce or gravy really goes down well (like in pasta, like you said). But, make sure you're CHEWING it so that it's the consistency of BABY FOOD. If you don't know what Baby Food Chicken looks like, go look at it at the grocery store. That's what it MUST look like before it goes down. I don't know about YOU, but it takes me a WHILE to get it that way. I prefer to shread my chicken up BEFORE it goes on my plate, that way, i have a better tendency to chew it like it should be... Also, remember SMALL bites. They should be no bigger than your pinky-nail. If they are, they're too big... FOR MEAT. Other things may go down easy, but meat "sticks" in the tummy for me, and it's really a touch-and-go thing sometimes. So if i'm eating meat, i'm chewing for a LONG time or i'm in pain. By the way, I had surgery Sept. 24, 2002 - so i'm longer out than you - so be prepared for this to continue for a little while. If it goes away, GREAT. If not, just be prepared. It's not a painful thing... it's just a damn hassle. lol Okay.. I hope i helped. I'm not a doctor, but that's how it is for me. Good luck to you :) you're doing GREAT. xoxo Kem
