Has anyone had luck with getting Kaiser to approve DS in Maryland?

Hi, Just wondering if anyone in MD/DC/VA has had any luck getting Kaiser to approve them for DS rather than RNY or VSG. Did you have to appeal? If so what are the steps? Thanks!
