Question:
One year PO...I feel like I can eat ALOT...

I am one year post op (open RNY) and within the last couple of weeks I feel like I can eat a lot without getting that "full" feeling. I believe I am transected, but I am not 100% sure on that. Here are some examples of items I've eaten that I feel is too much: 1 piece of Sbarro pizza (minus the end crust), 3 homestyle chicken strips from Wendy's, a beef burrito from Taco Bell (minus some of the tortilla, but not all), a WHOLE bagel from Dunkin' Donuts (that totally freaked me out that I could eat it). These are not items I eat everyday, I just wanted to give examples of universal items that everyone can visualize. I ate each of them in one course, not spread out throughout the day. My question is...does this seem normal? I have my one year check up with my doctor in a couple of weeks. I was wondering if people think this is a mechanical problem or just normal at this far out? I was self pay (I have insurance, but they would not pay for anything), and any tests I would need I will also have to pay for. Sorry to ramble on, I just feel like I can practically eat the way I used to and I am so afraid! Thanks in advance for any help! KC (357/225/175)    — KC I. (posted on May 5, 2004)
