Question:
Not a question regarding WLS but some members from this site

Does anyone know what has happened to Barb Day, Ava Lee, and Fran Gomez? I just realized that I haven't seen their responses to questions for days, or maybe weeks. Then, I tried to find them, and their profiles are no longer available. I miss hearing from them and being able to read their profiles.    — Kristie B. (posted on April 28, 2002)

I have seen Ava and Barb post recently, although not as frequently as they used to. As for Fran...your guess is as good as mine. As someone going on 2 years with this group, I can tell you that people who lose the weight tend to move on to the rest of their life's activities. As for me, I am in the final phase having lost 214 of the anticipated 300 pounds targeted, with reconstructive surgery planned for this summer that will remove about 60 pounds of the remaining 86 pounds. That will give me about 26 more pounds to lose 'on my own'. When those are gone, I will probably be outta here, too!

I have been really missing Barb Day. Does anyone know what happened to her? It's like she just disappeared. Barb, are you out there? Shelley

That is VERY strange. It's odd that Barb's profile would have been deleted ~ even if she's just been busy the profile should still be there. I wonder how we can find out???

Barb was head of the moderating team for years and did a wondeful caring job. She got tired of the stress from the no pay job, and is likely reading this but since she deleted her profile she has no way to respond. I hear from her from time to time. She is looking forward to a trip to Disney world may 1st. She REALLY enjoys spending time with her family and friends, something she had trouble doing while being so involved here, <P> We all miss her and hope some day she returns.

Thanks Bob! It's good to know that she's ok. She must have REALLY been burned out if she went as far as deleting her profile. It was motivating to many people. Thanks again. Now we don't have to be concerned about if something happened to her.

Thank you for sharing about Barb. If you talk to her please tell her that she is missed. I have looked to her for inspiration since joining AMOS two years ago.

Moderating is stressful:( She said she had tried to quit a couple other times. Deleting her rofile may have been a attempt to make a clear break. I WISH I were going to Disney, its my FAVORITE place. I will email Barb with this thread, so you can all wish her well.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one missing Barb. She was truly my inspiration early on, and I miss her candid responses.

Bob - please do send this thread to Barb and let her know she's missed....I will tell you when I was researching WLS, she was sooo one of the most influential people on the site - as an inspiration to me. I appreciated her candid, yet supportive, responses! I'm delighted to hear she is enjoying her life!! Praise God for this surgery and for the wonderful people who share their experiences on this site! Open RNY 7/17/01, -94, 43 to go.
