Question:
Has anyone been denied a tummy tuck by aetna, then appealed and been approved?

My sister has Aetna Insurance and was recently denied a tummy tuck. I am trying to find something that will help her in an appeal aspect. Please help! Thanks!!    — Kimberly B. (posted on May 14, 2002)

Yes I am now 10 weeks post-op from my abdominoplasty. AetnaHMO denied me at first stating that my stomach didnt hang enough but I appealed and was approved.... Ill email you directly with my appeal letter. Tell your sister to contact me and Ill be happy to help anyway I can

I was not denied, I composed a letter took pictures off my self, and went to their web site where it states "as long as the pannius hangs to or below the pubis". Mine was right to. I gave all my info to the PS and they took it from there, I am 1 month out from Panni removal with lipo. Good luck
