Question:
This may seem like a dumb question

but what exactly is a cup or 1/2 cup of food. I am 9 mos post op and I don't know exactly what a cup of food is? I always put my food in a saucer, I can eat a saucer of food at a time, I don't however put it in a cup , for example I can eat a half of protein bar, one egg and three thin deli slice of beef balony for breakfast, is this egual to a 1/2 cup or cup of food, I also can eat only a junior whopper, most of the bread taken off for lunch,is this a cup? what they mean is a measuring cup, that is usually used to measure ingredients for recipes, you need a liquid measuring cup for liquids it's usually a large glass cup with measurements on them. and you will need a set of dry measurers, for solid foods, they are usually plastic and they come in differents sizes and they are sold together and they have writing somewhere on them that would say for instance 1/4 cup etc. If I seem sarcastic I am not trying to be when I was in college and in a writing class that said give clear instructions so someone will understand when describing something, you should really see a nutritionist and they can help you with your diet allot

also I forgot to mention that baloney is not a good food choice because it's a processed food and you can be sabotaging yourself by eating it also a junior wopper is not a good choice either.

Please print out your question and take it to a nutritionist. This will be money well spent. It will not only give you confidence in understanding what you are doing and why, but it will help you make good decisions from the very beginning. Daily Baloney and Whoppers are typically not considered the high-quality nutrition that we are urged to seek. Please consider Grace's post seriously. She is completely correct.

I think a Jr. Whopper is OK. Its better than the kiddie burger because it has all of the fresh veggies on top. And BK is the healthier of the choices because it is flame broiled instead of fried. It is fine for every once in a while, I'm sure you are not eating them every day.

A rule of thumb that someone passed on to me is that a cup of food on your plate is about the size of your closed fist. This has really helped me judge how much I am taking it. Hope it helps you - C.
