Question:
Does anyone know a doctor that would do any type of weight loss surgery on teens?

My daughter needs help, yet I cannot find a doctor willing to help my teen. Any help is greatly appreciated.    — M M. (posted on July 12, 2002)

I wish I had an answer for you. I understand your concern. I am now 20 but wish I could have found out about the surgery long before now. Have you tried talking to the Bariatric Treatment Centers? I don't know if there is one in your area but you can always call them and possibly set up an appt somewhere else. I live in NC but am having my surgery done in PA. I don't know if they will do it but its a suggestion anyway. If I can help please let me know. You and your daughter are in my prayers

Dr. Albert Wetter, Burlingame, CA. does wls on teens. He did my 13 year old daughter last year. He has a real heart for the morbidly obese adolescent, he's an experienced lap surgeon and is the only person I would trust with my baby. He does, however, consult with the Cincinatti program. I believe they're the formost experts in adolescent weight loss surgeries. Good luck!
