Question:
Aetna and plastic surgery in the state of Maryland

I have asked before and I will ask again. Has anyone had reconstructive surgery ( abdominoplasty and breast reduction) with Aetna insurance coverage in the state of Maryland?? Did you have any problems getting it covered?? Let me know your experiences please. Thanks!!    — Vicki L. (posted on October 29, 2002)

I don't have Aetna, but I know Aetna has a policy on plastic surgery and I believe it says it does not pay for removal of excess skin or reconstruction that is the result of disease. They have a website on line, you may want to look up the policy.

I guess it depends on the policy. Have been told abdominoplasty could be covered if you met the requirements... hangs below pubis, rashes and hernia, call your member services the can tell you "if" its covered. We all know "if" and "will" are too seperate things :)
