Question:
Hey I am 18 mos. post-op and have Left shoulder pain???/

Well its been going on for about 2 months now. It doesnt matter if I eat or not, its almost always there. The doc's office that did my surgery said I am to far out for it to be from my surgery? IS THIS TRUE??? I never had this problem before? Also what do you take for period cramps. (Intense Pain). I was taking liquid roxicet, but it is addictive and I dont want to take it for 3 days straight. Tylenol is not strong enough. Any suggestions?    — lynbaby B. (posted on October 30, 2002)

I had awful shoulder pain after my surgery and for days after. It got better and the meds took care of the pain. I thought they may have pulled it during surgery. But this long after its probably something else. I woulld go to another Dr. and let them find the cause. Tawnda

I take Vioxx 1 per day. It is Great!!!!!!! I be sure and eat Yogert/milk before I take them and I only take 1 a day for 2 days out of the month. My dr. said it's ok because it's short term.

I have that shoulder pain too. But I just had a surgery a little over a month ago. I also had the same pain after my WLS. I know you are too far out to have it really considered surgery related, but mine was because my back and neck were out. You might try seeing a chiropractor. It helped me tremendously.

I could be mistaken, but I think I read somewhere that shoulder pain can be a sign of a gall bladder problem..along with upper abdominal pain.

Have you tried midol for the cramps? My doc says it is ok. Also if you are really in pain, you shouldn't get addicted to rocet for taking it for 3 days. I took it for 2-3 WEEKS after my surgery, and I didn't get addicted.
