Question:
My Incision is still Tender?

I had RNY = on 7/24/02 - my incision healed great but I still feel it tender at times. How long will this take to heal. I've lost 75lbs. At time I think it's just me but it feels warm. The doctor(surgeon) looked at it and he says it's fine. I also have that nasty heat rash below my breast and on my tummy areas. That does bother me when it breaks out.    — L V. Hello! I am still pre-op but knowing from past experience with an incision, the area will probably be different. I had an operation on my back with an incision that was 6 inches long and that was 4 1/2 years ago. That scar is not tender but it freaks me out if someone touches it. It feels funny, not painful but very strange, it's sort of hard to describe. I am sure an incision on your abdomen is different with all the muscles and everything but an incision is still an incision so it may always feel "differnt" to you. Good luck!
