Question:
Does anyone know how much it costs to join either Curves for Women or Gotham Fitness?

Curves for Women and Gotham Fitness are right near my house. I was wondering if anyone knew how much it was to join? I also wanted to know peoples opinions on either of these gyms? I'm not sure which one I should join. Thanks    — Lisa N. (posted on January 21, 2003)

I went Curves for Women for 10 months last year. It is a great program. I belive there is a registration fee and then it is 29.00 a month. They are very encouraging, supportive and have lots of incentives to lose weight.

I joined Curves in August - it was a $75 registration fee and is about $25/mo. I really enjoy it - it's the first workout place that I don't hate going to and can see myself sticking to it. Good luck!

The cost of Curves varies by region. Last year I paid $339 for a oneyear membership- the month to month was $29 with a $49 sign up fee (but htey are always having specials to waive that). You can check them out online- just do a search.

Hey Lisa, Give them a call. Curves differs by state and City...Curves in Manhattan is $71/month and a $14p initiatin fee, I don't know about the other, never heard of it. COnsider the YMCA also, the revamped almost all in the city last year and are quite resonable!

Well, I joined Curves for Women today. I called both places and I liked what the woman from Curves told me on the phone. I explained that I would be having surgery in July and they told me that I could freeze my membership for the time I would be out. I also had a coupon and that took $100.00 off the price. So I paid $88.00 and then will pay $39.00 for each month. I go in Saturday so they can show me how to use the machines

Hi, I've heard great things about Curves, but my sister and I joined the local YMCA a few months back and we both love it. We take a water fitness class twice a week and we use the weights twice a week as well. The yearly memebership costs only $300.00 (the water classes are additional, but they work out to $5 a week, not bad, I used to spend twice as much on food per week!). Most YMCA's also offer financial aid to qualified applicants. Good Luck. Janelle (Lap with complications) September 6, 2002 down 110 lbs!
