Question:
Seeking A Stainless Steel Medic Alert Bracelet

I know there are tons of questions about medical alert bracelets in the library, but this is a little different. I am looking for a stainless steel bracelet (you aren't supposed to wear gold or silver or beads when you swim in chlorine - besides those are really too expensive). My problem is that all the bracelets I've found online put the information on the front side of the tag. I want the medical symbol on the front of the tag and the info on the reverse so I don't have to broadcast to the world. Does anyone have any auggestions on where I can find a bracelet like this?    — Toni C. (posted on February 8, 2003)

I'm going to answer my own question LOL. In the time between I asked and this got posted I did some searching and found one. http://www.makemethis.com For the bracelet including the engraving and shipping, the total cost was $5.80. Not bad :)

I have a stainless steel medic alert braclett, I got from medic alert, and they have my information on the computer 24/7. They only cost a donation of $20 a year, and the braclett cost about $25 bucks, it has medic alert on the front in red and has all your information on the back of the braclett. go on-line and put in medic alert

I got a sport band type thing, and I wear it on my ankle. It's made out of nylon mesh, and it has velcro. Check them out! They are quite reasonable too. www.n-styleID.com

I found mine on ebay, it was $13.96 plus shipping. Great quality, nice looking and stainless steel. Engraving was included (1 line) but I plan to add a bit more at some point. So far it says "Gastric Bypass" and that's it. I will probably add Kaiser Permanente and my medical record #. It also came with a wallet card.

I found some beautiful medical id bracelets on ebay at www.stores.ebay.com/store=96335526. Cindi is making me one using ruby crystal, gold accent beads - I want a bracelet that suits me and I can wear it anywhere. Of course I won't wear it in the pool, but the group I swim with know I will have gastric bypass surgery done in February this year. She has many styles, many different variations and she will work with you how you want your bracelet. I am very pleased with mine. And I recommend her bracelets very highly, she does have Stainless Steel.
