Question:
Swelling in lower left abdomen

I am now 23 days post-op Lap RNY and I still have quite a bit of swelling in my left lower abdomen. It even hurts to bend down to the left. Is this normal and how long does it take to go away???    — Dave B. (posted on February 8, 2003)

hi..post op i had a drain on the lowwer left side..it was taken out prior to leaving the hospital and i was told it was to avoid fluid collecting there....maybe you have the fluid the nurse was telling me about...best advice i can give you is call your doctor!! good luck
