Question:
Has anyone had a revision due to doctor bypassing TOO MUCH?

I am currently 11 months out tomorrow and have lost 190 lbs so far. My goal weight loss was 140bs with a stretch goal of loosing 160lbs. I have dropped the weight very fast and have been sick the whole time. Now my doctor is talking revision if we can not get my health back up. I have constant diarrhea even with Immodium and throw up a lot even this far out. I have learned how not to throw up so often, but that means I do not eat as much. Big bad circle. My doctor bypassed 150 cm from my new stomach to my intestines and 60cm from my old stomach to intestines to drain gastric juices. Now it seems this may be too much. According to all I read 150 cm is distal, however he calls it proximinal, I was shocked to learn how much was bypassed!! Now I am scared, my hospital stay was horrible, the surgery made me so sick, and I nearly died from the morphine. Has anyone else had to have a revision for this reason, Please help. **11 mths PO -190lbs, current weight 130**    — smedley200 (posted on February 11, 2003)
