Question:
Have any of you read Who Moved My Cheese?

On the Kaiser list this last month, someone suggested reading the book Who Moved my Cheese? It is a hardback book but has large print and 94 pages. What a great book. Written by: Spencer Johnson MD

*****
Here's a quote from the cover: "Who Moved my Cheese? is a simple parable that reveals profound truths about change. It is an amusing and enlightening story of four characters who live in a "Maze" and look for "Cheese" to nourish them and make them happy.

Two are mice name Sniff and Scurry. And two are "little people" -- beings the size of mice who look and act a lot like people. Their names are Hem and Haw.

"Cheese" is a metaphor for what you want to have in Life -- whether it is a good job, a loving relationship, money, a possession, health, or spiritual peace of mind.

And the "Maze" is where you look for what you want -- the organization you work in, or the family or community you live in."

****

Here are some quotes that hit home with me:

"When you move beyond your fear, you feel free."
"What would you do if you weren't afraid?"
"If you do not change, you can become extinct."

Definitely would recommend the book. I could put myself into the story line with regards to some many aspects of my life including my weight loss journey.

Have you read this book? I highly recommend it.
Mary — [Deactivated Member] (posted on June 18, 2003)

Mary I know you didn't really require an answer, but yes I did read this book. I read it 4 years ago after my husband had been laid off from a job after 23 years at the age of 50. It helped me through a very rough time. I have since reccommended it to several friends with problems too hard to deal with. It was an inspiration to me and I hope it helped my friends.
