Question:
Does anyone know where you can get plus size excersize pants?

I wear a size 16/18 now but I can't find any excersize pants to wear to the gym. I am 5'3". I am not looking for anything fancy but loose fitting pants, like the kind with the strips down the side.    — Heather S. (posted on October 21, 2003)

You can get them @ Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc. Target has a pretty nice selection...their XL usually fits a 16/18 in the exercise gear, anyway.

Hey Heather- I got a HappyGram for ya! Size 16/18 is not considered plus size :o) You can shop in the *normal* sizes now :o) I have seen the sweat pants with the stripe down the side at Old Navy, I believe they go up to a women's 1X or 2X. Congratulations on your loss so far. Mea

Check out the clearance section on Roamans.com. I have got some nice things very inexpensively there. Also, if you order something over the phone after getting catalog numbers off of the internet, ask the cust serv rep for unadvertised specials. They will THEN tell you about them, after you have placed at least one order of something else. These are even less expensive than the clearance section on the web!! (and good quality too!!!)

Try Wal-Mart. I've seen sweat pants/exercise pants there in a variety of styles.

Try places like Fashion Bug, Catos, Lane Bryant, The Avenue, Walmart, TJ Maxx. My favorite big girl stores are Fashion Bug and Catos.

I usually get my jogging pants from the mens section of different stores like finish line or foot locker and right now they are getting rid of a lot of stuff. I bought a couple of adidas brand pants regularly 40 bucks for 10.

As a shorty myself, the problem I find is that the majority of these pants are too long, even for for someone at a smaller size (I'm a 10/12)! Forget looking in the men's section - they'll be way too long! Some stores have petite sections that carry these types of pants. I've pretty much gone with some type of leggings and an oversized t-shirt. Good luck in finding something that works for you. Barb 4/07/03 235/152/128

Oh my gosh!!!!! Sorry I don't have any idea as to where you can find the pants you're looking for. But, I just read your profile and can't believe your story....you're been to hell and back !!! I'm awaiting my surgery date, but, hearing your story, maybe I don't want to do this. Nothing could be worth what you've been through. Thanks for sharing your story and God Bless.
