Has anyone had a DOBUTAMINE STRESS ECHO

Has anyone had a DOBUTAMINE STRESS ECHO without having to do the treadmill, just the Dobutamine medicine with a goal of 153 heart rate, and did not make the goal, and still was cleared for surgery. My goal was 153 I went to 130 before they stopped the medication    — jimnetta N. (posted on November 22, 2003)

i had this test. at least part of it. As soon as they started the medicine in my blood pressure shot up to 236/122 and I nearly had a stroke. My heart rate only got to 130 . my head had the most terrible pain I ever felt and they stopped the medicine just in time to prevent a stroke. Needless to say that was the end of that test. I had to go back the next week and have the regular stress test. Got my rate up to about 150, I think, so I passed finally. had nothing to do at all with my clearance for surgery so i guess it got where they wanted it.

Yes, I had it last month. It was really bad. I felt that I was having a sroke. Never again!! Next time I will do the treadmill
