Question:
I am moving from NJ to NY.

I am relocating and trying to find a new Dr and Nutritionit in the Syracuse NY area. I know for a fact that there is a Bariatric program there and when I have tried to connect with them I am told that because I had my surgeryels where thy will not work with me. I have not had my surgery yet but I use a surgeon in Ithaca, NY, Dr. Mecenas. I have read that he has taken people who have had their surgery in Mexico. His office staff is really nice and friendly.

Hi, I'm from Syracuse - welcome! Aside from the bariatric center right in Syracuse, there is a surgeon in Auburn, and a couple more in Rochester. They are not too far away. Do you need to see a surgeon? I mean, if it's for blood work and stuff, could a PCP have the same tests ordered? I belong to a support group here whose members have had or are having their surgeries from different surgeons. I could ask them about nutritionists if you like. Of course, you're welcome to join the group as well as soon as you relocate. Good luck to you!
