Question:
Feeling down, go shopping?

Hi, this is not a question, just a statement. I recall a comment that has been around for many years ; "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels." I agree with that 100%. There is no food in this world that I would take all my weight back for. I was feeling down this morning ( looking for a job, haven't found one yet, it got me down) I went to the store, shopping always helps, but with funds low, I've been staying away from the stores. Well, I decided to be daring, figuring it would either lift my spirits, or dig them deeper. I tried on size 14 jeans, and to my happy amazement THEY FIT!!!!!!! Last year at this time I was wearing a size 26, noW I'm 14. That totally lifted my spirits, I bought 2 pair...lol. Now, If I could just find a job. lol. Isn't it soooooooooo exciting...BUT I NEVER PAY RETAIL (hehe) I've love visiting thrift stores- Just last week, I got a "new" pair of Gap button fly jeans (flawless) size 12 (started out in a size 30/32) Mind you Gap runs big, I'm really a size 14..but they SAY 12 haha- I am wearing a floor length Liz Claiborne dress in my profile I got around Christmas time- (again flawless) I paid more to have it dry cleaned then I did for the dress itself (haha) Size 14...$3.00 at my local Thrift store- Just yesterday I got a size 12 pair of DKNY black pants (these sell for around $200) paid $1.00 for em' well they don't fit yet- so I'll put them away- Who would have thought I would go from wearing Fashion Bug/ Roamans / Venezia / Maggie Lawrence (oh common women, you KNOW those name brands LOL) to Gap, Liz Claiborne, and DKNY....gotta love it (giggle) I'm soooo happy for you, its SO exciting ! and yes- GREAT THERAPY

There's nothing like a day at the mall! I swear I've got a black belt in shopping. All you bargain hunters, don't forget TJ Maxx . . . I just found a pair of Ralph Lauren Khaki pants (retail $59) for $15; and a white blouse in Kohl's (clearance rack) for $10. Sometimes its well worth the hunt. Happy shopping! (3X down to a 14 pants, large top)

I hate to be a party-pooper, but several members of my support group have gotten themselves into some financial difficulties by using 'retail therapy'. Just be sure that you aren't replacing one bad habit (eating for comfort) with another (shopping for comfort). That being said, I love going to thrift shops in the wealthy area nearby. I bought new $140 pair of Ralph Lauren wool slacks for $20. Good luck with the job hunt, too.
