Question:
Patients of Dr. Leitman in NYC...

Has anybody who had Dr. Leitman as their surgeon had a revision done by him? Has anybody brought it up to him and what was his reaction? Thanks - Tracy    — tracyr (posted on October 26, 2004)

tracy- I had Dr leitman....he has to be the most amazing man and dtr in the world. I had surgery over 2 yrs ago and have lost 140lbs and was very successful. I did' gain back some weight this past winter and was worried my pouch was stretched or my opening was large...I talked to him about it and I will tel you there is alot involved before u have a revision. Is your pouch stretched? What about your opening, etc? Have you had an endoscopy? There are tests to be doen to find out why you are gaining. Roslin, his partner, is also doing a research study on people like you. My suggestion, talk to him, he is a wonderful dtr....he will listen and do what is best for you. Good Luck.

Hi! I had an upper GI which showed nothing wrong with the pouch. I am having pain and can eat considerably more without feeling sick. I am getting a copy of the films so I can show Dr. Leitman on my next visit. Do you see a nutritionist? If so, which one? Thanks - Tracy

Tracy, I saw Dr. Leitman a couple of months ago and delicately mentioned having a revision but he didn't seem to think I needed it. I did have the Upper GI and an endoscopy which should a slight irregularity but apparently not enough to conclude a revision was needed. I'm interested in what's happening with you to make you think about a revision.
