Question:
When do you get the final answer? If you are approved.

I noticed that other members were denied after all test were completed is this something that would happen. I have a great relationship with my PCP and he and I have tried many different diets for over a duration of 8 years she actually recommened me for this. what the insurance companies are looking for is in most cases a solid 6 month diet program that is monitored. just because your PCP has looked into your situation for many years problem will not count unless you can sweet talk that doctor into submitting exactly what u need. They want to make sure u are serious about WLS and losing weight for 6 months is the best way for them, however not for you. good luck

It depends on your insurance company. The only real answer for you is to get it in WRITING! Have your surgeon submit your request for surgery -- before you start testing. Trust me verbal means NOTHING! I had at least 3 verbal approvals, then after testing, I received my denial... After hiring legal representation and fighting with them for months, I'm going to Brazil for self-pay. I'm blessed to have the funds and I worth the investment. Good luck -- and get it in writing!
