Is it true? Has the rapper, Missy Elliott had WLS?

Have you heard anything? One of the nurses I work with just showed me a copy of the most recent edition of Jet magazine (the one dated July 15, 2002. In this particular edition, it shows Grammy Award-winning rapper, Missy Elliott showing off her new *gear*. Everyone in my office was circled around this nurse saying "tha girl WAS THICK", but look at her now, bet she got that weight loss surgery too"! What do you all think? Did she or not? I don't believe that she did. I recall a recent interview where she talked about her weight loss, she had achieved it by doing a low carb diet and cutting back on snacking and alcohol. As a result, I beleive she dropped 50-60 lbs. The only celebrities I've read that have actually had the surgery are of course, Carnie Wilson, John Popper (Blues Traveler), Sharon Osbourne, Jennifer Holliday, Al Roker and Roseanne Barr.

Yeah, Sharon Osbourne had gastric banding done about a year ago. She said she wanted to look good for the show. She has lost about 100lbs.

Yes, Missy did have the surgery they have an article on her and Kelly Price. I thought she might have because she lost a lot of weight...

If anyone has links to articles where Missy Elliot talks about having wls I would like to read them. I have been searching to find out if she has had wls and have not been able to find anything. Thanks
