Question:
I live in Austin Tx , anyone knows if UT Select -BCBS insurance will cover surgery

hi rachel - not sure if the client takes bcbs - but southwest bariatrics here in austin is great. i had RNY in oct 2005 and used nancy marquez - she's great. they do different bariatric surgeries. if you have any questions while going through this in austin - don't hesitate to contact me - [email protected].. i'll answer any questions if you decide on RNY. good luck! its a hard decision to make. anne kirsch

I have UT Select and had RNY this past May at UT Galveston. I was required to wait 6 months from my initial appointment with the Weight Loss Clinic before the surgery. Really passes very quickly..actually glad there was a waiting period because I initially planned to do the lapband but after 6 months of research and questions decided on the RNY. Best of luck!

I have UT Select-BCBS and they do cover surgery. I am at Southwest Bariatrics as well and they are awesome. There are a bunch of hoops to jump through before surgery, so if you want more info, feel free to email me at kellytx @ gmail . com (remove spaces) and I can give you the whole picture.
