I bought my medical ID bracelet on Ebay for only $9.95. No NG Tube without
scope is on the back and medical alert logo on front. Hope this helps.

any engraving shop,got one at the county fair for 1.85.
its not the ng tube to worry about, it being given glucose orally if your
semi concicous,incoherant durring a cycle of dumping,similating insulin
shock, a ems worker would give sugar, but thats a big negative for a non
diabetic wls patient. a ng tube wont do u harm, its a soft pliable rubber.

MedicAlert in Turlock, California was the innnovator of those medical
bracelets. You can call them for brochures and order over the phone. They
do have a very inexpensive one to start with. They are on Colorado
Street.

I got mine from American Medical ID's website:

My bracelet says my name on the front and "see back" and then on
the back I have: RNY GASTRIC BYPASS, NO BLIND NG TUBE, NO NSAIDS --- and
the prior post about the blind ng tube not hurting you isn't true - it can
puncture your pouch, especially if you are just a couple of weeks out. My
doctor and his nurse confirmed this. The NSAIDS part isn't all that
important (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) cause if given only once
during an emergency isn't going to do any damage - it is just the long term
affect but I put it on there for the "just-in-case" type
senario.
BTW, I am only 10 weeks out and this bracelet has already saved me from
some serious damage. I was scheduled for an endoscopy on the 8th and for
some reason somebody failed to mention that I was post-gastric and the
nurse happend to notice my bracelet and when she notified the doc he had to
reschedule for the next day cause he had dialation rods only for
"normal" people and I had to be in a different area of the
hospital for the special equipment. Hope this helps. Kelly
