Question:
good vitamin

I need a good vitamin have been under alot of stress and hair loss once again. I have been off vitamins, I know I'm bad! But I will get back on them, so let me know what out there? I can't swallow too big of a pill, and the chewables are gross. Thanks.    — luvmytrucker51 (posted on December 6, 2007)

My program calls for me to take 1 Flintstones Complete chewable twice a day plus 1 B12 sublinqual. Addressing the hair loss--your protein intake is probably going to help most with your hair...but don't miss the vitamins, ever... remember, they're for life! Good Luck, Leslie

I use a liquid vitiman that I like extremely well. You need to take your vitamins daily, at least twice the adult RDA. The one I use is on a website www.bariatricliquidvitamins.com . It far exceeds the standard RDA levels, had high antioxidant rating, as well as additional benefits. My surgeon and the instructors for the bariatric classes reviewed it, and found it to be more than satisfactory for bariatric patients. It sure beats swallowing several pills daily. Biotin will help with hair loss, and this vitamins has 100% RDA of Biotin, which most vitamins do not have.

If you are stressed make sure your multi is extra high in B-Vitamins b/c you deplete your body of these when you are stressed. As for hair look for a collagen protein if you can. They tend to be more expensive so it might not be a route you wish to go but collagen is the chief protein that makes up the connective tissue so great for hair, skin, nails. Just an option whatever protein you have will help if you stick with it. If you have a question don't hesitate to ask. [email protected]

I take a chewable vitamin twice a day. I order them from bariatricadvantage.com. They are offered in three flavors, berry, orange and tropical fruit. I've tried all three and they are not bad tasting. GOOD LUCK !!

I would highly recommend a liquid supplement that I've been taking called Vemma (recommended by my own surgeon). Not only does it have all of your daily required values, I've experienced a serious increase in my energy levels since I've begun taking it. It doesn't taste bad and is taken by many people outside the realm of weightloss surgery. See link below for more info. www.myvemma.com/ashleypatrick

I too could not find a good chewable vitamin. My friend told me that everyone she knew uses the childrens Gummie Vits, they are good, just use double for the adult dose.

I have been using the GNC brand of chewables. The ones I have recently been taking are lemon lime and cherry. Please take your vitamins and protein.

Sherry, I take the Women's One a Day Multi-Vitamin and I purchased Vitamin D Soft Gels 400 to take on the side--these I usually take at night so they can work through the body while it's at rest -- a fitness guru told me that.

Just a suggestion about taking pills...buy a pill cutter. There are less than $5 at most drug stores or places like Walmart. You can cut pills several times until they are really small. Pill crushers are also available if you wish to hid them in your food.
