Question:
My ins. is asking why I have gained my weight back after having had stapling in 1982

I want to have the stapling changed to RNY and I am having a difficuilt time getting insurance (Cigna PPO)to approve. They want reasons and documentation over the past years why the stapling did not work (it did for about 4 years), what do I send them???    — psstanz (posted on March 16, 2001)

Well, if your doctor can give you a hand collecting information then this site will be of great assistance. Try checking out the Library; maybe use the search word "revision" or "revise". Review of the questions posted on the Q&A board might also help. There are members here that have faced the same hurdles and will offer advice and information. Don't give up! My VBG failed due to staple line disruption and silastic ring failure. My surgeon gave all the info. to my insurance company. Best wishes.
