Greetings Cindy: Tell us more about (1) your exercise level; (2) water/liquid consumption daily; (3) what you are eating / not eating; (4) how's about how you are sleeping?; (5) Any stresses in your life? While we wait to hear from you, it does sound as though all your poop is clogged inside you, or you are eating beans for dear life. I doubt if you are eating beans; so, you are stopped up and letting off very embarrassing gas. Talk to us, Cindy, we are all here for you. Blessings, Christine Gibson, MS, MA, Bariatric University Support Group Coach, Obesity Help Support Group Coach / Leader.

I have alot of gas if I eat to much dairy or something that I shouldn't (containing sugar). Gas is so bad that I will never try that again. Although I have heard that there is more gas after this surgery, which I can attest to, I use Devrom tablets everyday, because the odor is terrible and it helps with that.

If your really embarrassed in gassing everyone out of the room you can take a pill called DEVROM. But here's your chance to get all of your relatives back. Dairy products cause this in me.

Chewable Acidopholus (sp?)... it saved me... I take one in the morning and one at night... it helps your intestinal flora and decreases gas. I buy mine online along with most of my vitamins from Puritan's Pride... https://www.puritan.com

You will have "stronger smelling toots" as you will with the RNY. Your intestines have been re-routed, so to speak, so they are going to be pretty foul; it could last a long time or stop. I am 4 yrs post op, and I still have bad gas, but do try to watch or pay attention to what you eat. For some, it doesn't matter what you eat, the gas still smells. Check with your doctor for something that you can take that doesn't get malabsorbed.

Gas-X disolvable strips have worked well for me. I take two or three at a time and have no worries for the rest of the day. Best of luck!
