Question:
Why is it taking so long for an answer to my appeal? My attorney sent a letter with

my sleep doctors dianosis of "OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA" as well as his recommendation two weeks ago and as of yesterday they have not given an answer. They say they have sent the information to their physcians. Is this good news or what? I have lost all patience. I am in need of comfort.    — CINDY D. (posted on June 26, 2003)

check your benefits book. ALOT of insurnace companies have 'time limits' mine for example has up to 30 days to respond to an appeal....

Good Luck! You just better sit down though, your feet might get pretty tired. I don't know how well your insurance company is, but it took me 2 appeal letters, a supervised 6-month diet, and my own letter that I'd written. I hope you don't have to go trough all this, but with the insurance company it's just a matter of waiting. I am scheduled for lap RNY on July 7, 2003. Waiting can pay off.
