Can anyone tell me about the scars after Laprascopic RNY?

I have what looks like 4 mosquito bites (the 5th is inside the belly
button). And they really blend in with a tan!

five scars that can be covered by the first joint of my pinkie 6mo out and
only 3 are visible

I have 7 small scars. 4 are just the size of an eraser and 3 are about 3/4
inch long. They are red in color but not bright red. I had my surgery on
April 18, 2002. Good Luck to you. Cheryl

I have a 1/2" on my far lower left, an almost invisible poke on the
opposite side, a small poke about 3" under my left breast, and one
opposite it where my drain was. I also have two small incisions about an
inch on either side and just slightly above my belly button. A grand total
of 3-1/2" incisions and 3 pokes. At 5 weeks, they are already fading
nicely. I don't know how much it actually helped, but I put the Aloe Vesta
ointment that I got in the hospital on my tummy daily after the first week.
Dry skin is more apt to heal slowly and is more susceptible to infection
if it cracks. Any medical professional will tell you that. Good Luck!

I have six scars from laproscopic RNY surgery.
4 of the scars are just below the rib cage. The ones on the far left and
right are 1/3 of an inch long. The scar on the left of the median, just
below the rib cage (in a line down from my left nipple) is one inch long.
The scar to the right of the median (in a line down from my right nipple)
and just below the rib cage is an inch and a half long. There is one scar
an inch above my navel that is a half inch long and another half inch scar
slightly above that and to the right.
I am seven weeks out from surgery and so the scars are red. But I form a
lot of scar tissue and that makes a big difference.
Compared to an open RNY this is a cake walk. The scars are minimal and the
recovery time is usually faster. It can be deceiving thou because the
healing outside is quicker than the healing inside. So you have to baby
yourself a bit.

I have to really hunt to find them... and I added three more with
Gallbladder removal in '01- so now I think I have 8-10 of them. Needless
to say, what scars? I have extremely pale skin and they're faded, and I
forget I even have them. I see the scar on my leg (an old minor childhood
fort injury) better than I can see them!

I'm 19 months post op and If I didn't know I had the surgery, I'd never see
the scars. The have been virtually invisible since about 8 or 9 months post
op. I really do forget exactly where they are and sometimes find myself
looking all over for them! LOL!

Mine are super tiny, but visible. Unless I wear a 2 piece ('m too old for
that!)no one will ever know, such a VERY SMALL price to pay to be healthy
and look good!
