Question:
LOOKING FOR A WLS BUDDY TO GO TO MEXICO AND ANYONE WHO HAS WLS IN MEXICO FOR INFO.
I WANT TO GO TO MEXICO NEXT YEAR AND HAVE WLS. I NEED TO SAVE MONEY THAT'S WHY I CHOSE NEXT YEAR INSTEAD OF NOW. I NEED TO KNOW OF ANYONE ELSE WILLING TO TRAVEL ALSO. I ALSO NEED TO FIND INFO FROM ANYONE WHO HAS HAD WLS IN MEXICO. — PATRICE T. (posted on August 19, 2003)

Check out Latrisha Nickel (I think I got the name right?). Her profile is
on here and she has a ton of info on the entire experience of having WLS
with Dr. Aguirre.

As the previous poster said check out trisha's profile page. Her name is
spelled Latrisha Nickle. She went to Mexico for her RNY and loved the
surgeon. She is very nice and if you email her she will give you her phone
number and will answer any questions you may have. She will probably even
be more than willing to go to Mexico with you, as she has another person
having wls.

I'm wanting to go to Mexico June 04 for a TT but I live in CO and you live
in LA, might be hard to carpool lol....:) Anybody with info on Mexico TT's

I went to Mexico for open RNY with Dr. Alejandro Aguirre (same surgeon as
Latrisha Nickle). He is a wonderful surgeon. I have had no complications
and I've been doing very well. My surgery was 5-5-03 and I've lost
approximately 55 lbs.+ I had an excellent experience with Dr. Aguirre and
his staff and the hospital. I stayed at the Hotel Coral and Marina and
it's a lovely place to stay. I highly recommend it. There are many, many
fine places to stay within a wide range of price points. Travel to
Ensenada via bus was a fun, enjoyable experience. I had never travelled on
a bus before and we made an adventure out of it. The Mexican bus lines are
far nicer than the American Greyhound bus lines. I plan on returning to
Ensenada for Plastic Surgery when I'm ready for that. That's how good my
experience was. If you want to research Dr. Aguirre, or other Mexican
doctors, go to the "Find a Surgeon" page and then click on the
link for surgeons outside the US. There is a link for Dr. Aguirre and
testimonials from Americans who have used him. I don't have much

Hi! I had my lapband surgery in Tijuana on 4/16/03 by Dr Ortiz. I am not
sure if you are having the RNY or another procedure. Anyway, a couple of
people had the surgery the same day and they were traveling alone. The
good thing was that we all came together and no one was ever alone. Find
out from your surgeon if you will be having surgery with anyone else...
