No he has an address for Eagle Pass Texas (right on the border)I assume for banking purposes. You can see he had some advanced training and a couple of hospitals are listed on his bio.

Not that I am aware of. If you're thinking of using Dr. Alveraz - do it! I had the sleeve done last May by him. He and his staff are wonderful. You will not regret using him.

He does not practice in the States but as mentioned previously his clinic is just over the border from Eagle Pass, Texas. Even paying your own air fare to San Antonio, it's much cheaper to have the surgery done in Mexico. They pick you up at the airport, put you up in a motel in Eagle Pass, drive you over the border (takes less than 15 minutes with going through customs), pay for all hospital costs, tests, x-rays, medications, surgeon/secondary surgeon/anesthesiologist, etc., take you back to San Antonio, put you up in a motel, and then the motel shuttle takes you back to the airport the next morning. You can take a surgery buddy with you who stays with you at all times free (only has to pay for what they want to eat). He is highly trained and skilled with much training in the States. I had my sleeve done 5/26/09, and this is after he had done approximately 950 sleeves alone, not to mention his lap bands, and other laparoscopic surgeries. He's also very personable and caring. His whole staff is. The guy from my home town had down 3 vertical-banded sleeve gastrectomies and was charging about $6,000 more for the procedure. I don't think you can go wrong with Dr. Alvarez. It's not like going deep into Mexico (which I wasn't interested in doing), you're right on the border. Contact me if you have any other questions. [email protected]

Oh, by the way, I've lost 60 pounds and my sister who went with me at the same time has lost over 70 pounds. You can't go wrong with Dr. Alvarez!

To sum up Dr. Alvarez and his staff in word-- I would use the word Amazing. Sue's answer pretty much explained everything. One more thing I might add is that he and his staff are lifelong. Meaning that they dont just throw you to the wind after the surgery. They are always there for you 24/7 if you ever need anything. I am 67 pounds down and had my sleeve on May 23rd of this year. So that makes a total loss of 92 pounds (25 were prior to the surgery). I did close to 5 years of research and if you have any other questions or concerns you may contact me anytime [email protected]
