Hi. I am almost 17 weeks post op and about 3 weeks ago, i notice i am losing my hair...ALOT. i trimmed about 3 inches off and layered it just to make it look full again. I take my vitamins regularly and i always eat protein first, so i think it depends on the individual. Now i oil my hair with Sulfur-8. It helps a little. Good luck.

At about 3 months out, I noticed that I was shedding ALOT! I did get my hair cut shorter so the thinning out didn't show as much. But be assured, there were no bald spots at all! Now at about 5 1/2 months it has noticible slowed down. Thank goodness, I think this part is done. Good Luck to you! (Take zinc faithfully....it helped.)

I'm 19 weeks post-op and I've been losing my hair for over 6 weeks now. Nope, no bald spots....yet! My hair is very long and thick so it's not noticeable. But I notice it every time I use my conditioner in the shower, every time I brush my hair or just walking around a few fall out here and there. I eat plenty of protein every day and I take all of my supplements. Hopefully it won't last much longer. I'm not worried about it. :o)

Not bald spots, but if you have thin hair, you will end up with thin spots. How bad a loss depends on the individual. Some don't experience any hair loss, but most do. It usually starts around the 3 mo post-op time and lasts for 2 or 3 months. Getting a short, cute doo helped me tremendously. At 7 1/2 mo post-op, its growing back nicely. Some will recommend all sorts of vitamins and shampoos to stop, or slow down the loss. I don't believe any of them work-time will work it thru. I haven't heard of anyone going bald!

Between month 3 and 6 I thought I was loosing so much hair! I could see it every where. But now a year out I look back at pictures of me during those months and you can not tell a difference.
