When I had my surgery, I was a little less than 4 weeks form getting my next shot and never had any bleeding at all. It was one less thing to worry about! Angela

I had to get off my Depo before surgery (hormones, y'know) and I spotted a bit before surgery and until my next shot. No bleeding though.

Assuming you have been on Depo for a while and not just starting it before surgery, you most likely will not have any problems with bleeding. I was getting my shots every 8 weeks back then and was 7 weeks into that shot and never had even any spotting. I had been on Depo since 1995 though, so my body was not used to bleeding. <p>The strange thing though is at about 18 months PO I have started in with really light periods about every 6 weeks. The doc is thinking that because I have sooooo much less fat that now I do not need the high level of progesterone I was getting with the 8 week shots and my body is thinking it is trying to get ready to have a baby. The actually use Depo shots to support pregnancies in the early stages for women who miscarry a lot. So we are going to stretch them out slowly to the 12 weeks and see what happens. I'm hoping it settles down as I really do not care to deal with the mess after this many years. My body has never worked right from the start and I've had very few periods in my life. So at 43 and my tubes already tied, I really am not interested in going there. Only time will tell.
