Question:
Does anyone know if Humana Hmo Advantage for Milwaukee County Employees Require a 6-

month supervised weight loss attempt by a physician to be approved for the surgery? The reason I ask is because I'm currently going on my 2nd month visit for this and today 7-20-05 I find out through Humana that it is not required all I need is a pre-authorization from my surgeon stating that it is medically necessary and to include medical notes. Call them and ask! Only they can give you the straight scoop. However, even if they say no, I would continue on until after you have approval. I would not wait 6 months to apply. Let them come back and deny you for not having 6 months. By the time you get the denial you will be more than half way to meeting that requirement. Good luck and I hope it all works out for you soon. By the way I'm in Oshkosh and grew up in Milwaukee.
