Why would you want to take diet pills after having surgery? You need to eat properly to lose weight during the post op period. You need your protein and a balanced diet, maximum vitamins, etc. You shouldn't need to rely on diet pills post op. Just follow the protocol set up by your surgeon.

I think that would make you ill..... you had the surgery, and the surgery radically changes your body, your metabolism, and the way/things you can eat. The weight will come off over the course of a year and you do not need Adipex. Eat what the Doctor says, in the amounts he says, sip plenty of water/crystal light between eating, take your chewable vitamins, and when you eat, put protein as the main food (meat, cottage cheese, and so on depending on what stage of food you're at). Drink protein shakes daily, (slowly). Adipex is a drug, a chemical, don't do that to your self...

Did your Dr. recommend you take that? You shouldn't have to take that after your surgery. If you are still showing signd of hunger it may be "head hunger". You need to stick to your food plan. I was sent home with 5 stages to follow. I followed it exactly. I am 16 mos out began with a weight of 233 lbs. and I am now 118 lbs. I had hit 100 lbs loss at 9.5 months out. Don't depend on diet pills to help you get there. You will make your self sick. As mentioned drink your water, eat your protein, and take your vitamins. Best of Luck

Stepping into old habits will increase the chances of anything happening. Diet pills, no matter what kind, fit into the mentality or state of mind you used to be in. Be careful to be real and honest with yourself.

As I have learned we all lose weight differently and at different paces. I think using diet pills defeats the purpose of you having wls. It is that same mindset that we have that keeps us from eating healthy and losing what weight we need to. I am 4 yrs post-op and my surgeon said the surgery is a tool and I should let my tool do its job. By eating healthy and exercisng the weight will come off. The surgery is a tool and if you work your tool as it is suppose to be then I will lose. Before wls I had tried every diet and some of the pills on the market. They all will work if I worked with them. They did not do the work themselves, but some did curb my appetite. But if I wanted eat junk and over what I wanted greasy fried foods and sodas then the weight loss came back and more added. I had stopped losing into my 2nd yr. I had my check up last week and my surgeon told me if I just eat healthy and exercise my tool still works and I would lose more weight. I just have to as some others stop trying to find new ways to get around eating things that would not make me dump. I still dump on high sugar contents and greasy foods as well as eating too fast or gulping what I drink instead of sipping. I had stopped exercising due to I have Rheumatoid arthritis and I hurt after walking or aerobics as well as dancing. My joints kill me, but now I have started back exercising but with limitations and slower pace but added more time doing them and more times during the day. If your dr said you can take them then he knows best, but if it were me I would just try and work my tool more by eating healthy smaller portions and exercisng. Try also going back to basics as when you first had wls. I also do the 5 Day Pouch Test by Kaye Bailey. www.5dpt.com or check my obesity help profile and I have it listed there.
