JOBS IN THIS FIELD

I AM 6 YEARS OUT I HAVE KEPT OFF 127 POUNDS I HAVE 30 THAT I GO BACK AND FORTH WITH AND I ENJOY TALKING WITH PEOPLE WHO NEED OR HAVE GONE THROUGH THE SAME THING I'M THINKING OF GOING BACK TO SCHOOL AND I WOULD LIKE SOME ADVICE.    — ANNAJEAN (posted on January 5, 2009)

Wow going back to school to work with people in this field sounds like a wonderful goal. I Know most of the people I work with were nurses. But many people going through this need to see a counselor or nutricianist as well. What area are you looking at?

Congrats and good luck!! This is exciting, I to have gone backt o school and was wavering on what field to go into but since having my surgery a year ago I am focusing on physchology, specifically bariatric surgery counseling. There is only one that I know of in my area and is not taking new patients and so it is difficult and I hear alot from the people in my support group that they wish there was someone closer. I have decided this is my calling and thus my focus. I want to help people who are struggling with the difficulties of surgery. Its a great procedure but not as easy a fix as people think it is. So congrats and glad you've decided to help.
