I am 4 years post op RNY. I know what you mean. Some days I feel like I have a hollow leg I can eat so much and other days I can hardly eat anything. Who knows? I am keeping my weight off so that is all that really matters to me. FYI. I don't know if you need any skin removal but my friend had a body lift paid for by her insurance because they did the hernia repair at the same time. I had to pay for my plastic surgery.

Hi Debra, I'm 2 1/2 years post op and have the same thing happen. Yeah it's weird. This may sound weird or gross but something I've noticed is that when I don't go to the bathroom(#2)yet that I seem to not be able to eat as much as when I do go. Like you said sometimes I'll eat a couple of bites and be full. I know sometimes it also depends on what I am eating. I know when I eat like fruit and veges I can eat alot more of them then other things. I guess because they are more water based foods. Hope I've helped, Jeannie

I Debra. Hernias are not uncommon, even several years out. Please get that looked at and done. Some ins. companies will do a tt with it, so be sure to look into that as well if you need one! Regarding the eating, I do that all the time. I am only 3.5 years out, but for example, I order for take our from my favorite mexican restaurant an ala carte order of chili rellenos and a smothered beef and bean burrito. It takes me about 2 hours to eat both items (it is my only meal of the day when I eat this. They are not huge, but average size I think. Anyway, I ordered my usual this past week and ate it all in 2 hours or so. But I ordered it again this week, and could only eat the chili rellenos, could not eat another bite. I just move on to the next day and count my blessings that I can't eat as much as I want all the time. I don't know the why though, it is curious. Take care. Patricia P.
