Question:
Has anyone ever had extra skin removed by their GYN doctor while he is doing a

Hysterectomy. I'm having a hysterectomy done in a month and my insurance has denied a TT, but my OB/GYN doctor said he can do a panni. Since being a single mom I cannot afford a full TT and am seriously thinking about going through with it and letting him take off the xtra skin. Has anyone else done this?    — crazzikat (posted on March 8, 2006)

Hey there! I had a full body lift and needed the surgery badly. My doctor went to "BAT" for me! check out "Procedure of the month" on her web site. after getting to her site click on my photo to see my before and afters and my story! I traveled from Florida to Georgia to have her do this work for me! I must admit, after having the surgery, I did take my health to a different level with losing BODY FAT in a way of building lean muscle through the Ultimate plan of Nutrition and Exersize. Now I am working with others through motivation speakings and working on my Personal Training for weight control and weights in the gym! No I am not a body builder.... I am a figure competitor now! I desired way more than I asked for... All dreams are possible if you just reach out and ask for help! If you need any answers on personal stuff.... JUST ASK! :O) She is the most amazing doctor. If you need further answers email me directly! Celeste

I havent had this done personally but do know of 2 women in which their gyn performed a panni during procedures. One of them was having a c-section and her gyn tucked some of the extra and another gal I know whom had a hysterectomy had the complete tummy tuck done per her gyno. Both were happy with their results. Personally If I had to have a hysterectomy I would have it done. Good luck Jennifer

I have not had it done myself. I work on a gyn floor. I see it done everyday. Some do a good job, other ones leave a terrible looking incision. I would ask for references.

Definately check out how many of these procedures your GYN has done and, if possible, if you can look at the results. It may be an option to have a plastic surgeon 'assist' and make sure you are left with a nice, minimal scar. It would be great if your surgeon has done 100 of these and knows what he's doing. I guess you have to ask yourself how disappointed will you be with a nasty scar or uneven results -- would that be better than where you are now? Good luck!

I had a hernia repair and at the same time the same surgeon did a tummy tuck. And that's how the insurance billing was manipulated and they paid for it.
