Question:
What does it actually mean to get a fill? How do you empty a fill?

Shelley, A friend of mine has a lapband. There is a port under her skin, hers is in the middle under her breast area. Kind of in between the breasts but a tad lower. You can feel it in there. They use a hypodermic to fill the band with saline or to take out saline as needed. Hopefully that answers your question. Good luck.... Donna

hi there.sometimes they use an imaging system to see the band and watch to make sure the chalky fluid you drink is able to pass through without problems.other professionals just fill the band with the desired amount and get you to drink water.hope this helps on top of the reply already given.
