Question:
MY SURGERY DATE IS 8/5/02 STILL NO APPROVAL.. IS IT NORMAL?

I had a similar thing happen to me, I got on the phone to the insurance company, and told them I HAD to have an answer I explained my surgery was within a week, and they had an approval for me within 24 hours. I would be on the phone to the insurance company for as long as it takes to get an answer. Try and be in contact with the same person everytime you call. Best of luck

When you call the insurance company, ask for a supervisor. They may have more "approval power" than the others. Good luck!

Hi there, My surgery is scheduled for Aug. 7th and I still don't have approval but keep calling! That's what I have been doing! Good luck and God Bless, Td

I will be a year post op in 3 days and I, too had a close call with my insurance approval. I was very nervous and didn't get my approval until 1 week before my scheduled date. I kept calling and calling, expressing my concern and reminding them how close my date was. Finally, it came through as I said 1 week before and I was thrilled and finally,at that point, able to relax and prepare myself for surgery mentally. Good Luck and keep calling!!
