Sounds like it's head hunger. Try to keep yourself busy, but first make sure you drink ALL your water and then some each and every day. And now that yr a few weeks post op, are you drinking your protein?! That's a must and will definately help with your "hunger." Good luck, God bless and welcome to the losing side!

I understand what you're feeling. It truly is 'head hunger', but that's easier said than dealt with when you're feeling hungry. I found that I was as much bored with what I was allowed to consume as the fact that I missed the chewing action. (I can remember looking forward to my chewable vitamins simply because I got to CHEW them!) Trust me, it will get better. As soon as you're allowed to have soft solids then try thin mashed potatoes made with chicken broth instead of water. I even remember adding a little cheese to them at about week four.....taking small bites....and savoring the flavor. In the meantime, try some of the Celestial flavored teas. They're decaffeinated. and TASTE really good. I especially liked the Red Vanilla Madagascar - it tastes like vanilla cake mix. YOU have the power to succeed. You've made a wonderful decision and all of us here know that you'll prevail and conquer this step in living too!!!! Many days it seems like hard work but it's sooooo worth it!!! God bless, Toni

Have you tried baby food?

Given that you've posted a very similar question not too long ago (about cheating with foods), you really might want to consider talking to a professional who could help you find some ways to deal with the head hunger. You'd be surprised at what a good counsellor can do to help us with our coping mechanisms.

I understand, it's just head hunger--- it will pass in a few weeks... I used to cry when my family would eat... but it does get better, hang in there and make sure to get all your liquids and vitamins in! It gets better I promise and the reward is SOO great!!!

I think you may need to drink more water for the bowel mvements. I'm 6 weeks post op and am having the same problem too, if worse comes to worse and enema will be best in the long run!!!! good luck!
